Partners set to scale entry to solar-powered irrigation options in Senegal

Following a profitable pilot challenge, InfraCo Africa, part of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), has signed a Shareholders’ Agreement and a Loan Agreement with Bonergie Irrigation SAS (Bonergie Irrigation) to continue supporting the size up of the project.
Under the brand new agreements, InfraCo Africa will hold a big minority shareholding in Bonergie Irrigation, committing an extra US$2.4 million to considerably scale up farmers’ entry to prime quality irrigation solutions in Senegal.

Access to solar-powered irrigation solutions will replace existing diesel pumps, offering farmers with a more sustainable answer to addressing the linked challenges of local weather change and meals security.”
The agreements signed at present will see the commissioning, sale, installation and maintenance of at least 2,000 additional pumps over the following three years.
